This role ensures the sustainability of these initiatives beyond their initial project lifecycles, thereby contributing to the increased coverage goals of the NSSF. Duties and Responsibilities include: Grant Acquisition and Management: - Identify potential funding sources, including international organizations, NGOs, and government agencies.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the departmentâs strategic objectives.
- Manage the grant application process, including reviewing submissions, conducting cost analyses, and negotiating terms with funding partners.
- Monitor and report on grant-funded projects to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
Sustainability Planning: - Develop and implement strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of department initiatives.
- Work closely with project managers to integrate sustainability plans into project designs from the outset.
- Conduct regular evaluations of project sustainability and make recommendations for improvements.
Financial Management and Reporting: - Prepare and manage budgets for grant-funded projects, ensuring funds are allocated and spent according to donor requirements.
- Develop financial reports and documentation for funders and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial tracking and reporting of grant expenditures.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: - Build and maintain relationships with funding agencies, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the department and external funding bodies.
- Represent the department at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote funding opportunities.
Capacity Building: - Provide training and support to department staff on grant writing, management, and sustainability practices.
- Develop internal processes and tools to improve the departmentâs capacity to secure and manage grants effectively.
Education Requirements: - Bachelorâs degree or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant professional credentials and membership, where applicable
Work Experience: - Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experienceâin grant writing, management, and sustainability planningâwith at least three (3) years at a management level.
- Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or in a financial inclusion role.
