GOVERNANCE & HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICER 2 Positions | 1-Year Renewable Contract Job Summary The Governance & Human Rights Officer will support initiatives promoting human rights, accountable governance, citizen participation, access to justice, and inclusive decision-making. Key Responsibilities - Conduct community awareness activities on human rights and governance.
- Promote citizen participation in local decision-making.
- Support initiatives addressing human-rights violations and protection concerns.
- Facilitate community dialogues and stakeholder engagements.
- Work with local leaders and relevant institutions to strengthen accountability.
- Support women's participation in governance and decision-making.
- Document human-rights and governance issues arising within programme areas.
- Support referrals and linkages to relevant service providers.
- Prepare activity reports and programme documentation.
- Support training and capacity-building for community groups and stakeholders.
- Promote inclusion and participation of vulnerable and marginalised groups.
Ideal Candidate - Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Rights, Governance, Political Science, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in human-rights, governance, advocacy, or community-development programming is an advantage.
- Strong research, advocacy, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of human-rights principles and governance processes.
