Prime responsibilities of the position: - Develops, implements and manages Human Resources policies, procedures, systems and programmes for MTN-Uganda.
- Advises and represents Management on employee matters and issues.
- Participates in Policy discussion and decisions and ensures uniform HR policy applications by all divisions in MTN-Uganda.
- Ensures MTN-U is operating in accordance with Uganda Labor laws and MTN Group general terms and conditions of service of expatriate staff.
- Counsel employees on their terms and conditions of service, problems and grievances. Ensures employee discipline among he organization's staff. Handles employee complaints and ensures that there is a formal process for resolution.
- Liaise with other management staff on issues relating to Human Resources and oversees the recruitment of MTN Uganda staff as required.
- Oversees the Recruitment process and also ensures the processing of work permits for expatriate staff.
- Develop and Implement Human Resources Department's annual Strategic objectives and plans in alignment with the overall Company Business Plan.
- Reviews periodic salary and benefits survey, develops and monitors Remuneration and benefit packages based on market benchmarks.
- Develops, implements and manages MTN Uganda Talent Performance Management system and recommends changes in line with the evolving Organization.
- Develops and Manages the Leadership Talent Management Programmes to ensure staff development, growth and Succession Management.
- Develop the Company's staff cost budgets and ensure effective cost management and utilization of the Budgets.
- Conducts internal Staff sustainable engagement surveys to get feedback which will be utilized to improve workplace conditions and practices.
- Participates as a member of the Board HR and Remuneration Committee.
Required Academic qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: Education: - Bachelorâs degree in in Humanities, Psychology, Social Work & Social Administration.
- Masterâs degree with a Major in Human Resources or Organization Development.
- HRD certification.
Experience: - 7-10 yearâs experience in Human Resources Management with significant experience at Senior Executive level.
- Telecommunications experience is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and lead teams toward successful outcomes.
- Project management expertise with a focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in data analysis and using insights to inform strategic HR decisions.
- Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.
