Job Title:  User Experience Designer UI/UX (Fresher Jobs) Organisation: Agent Banking Company (ABC) Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda About Organisation: The Agent Banking Company (ABC) was established in 2017 by Uganda Banker’s Association (UBA) the umbrella organization for commercial banks in Uganda and Eclectics a pan-African technology company. Similar to the Mobile Money model, Agent Banking empowers commercial banks to appoint agents to provide banking services such as deposits, withdrawals and more on their behalf. Agents can be the local shopkeeper, kiosk owners, supermarket attendant or anyone in your community who has been authorized by your bank. Job Summary:   We are seeking a talented and creative UI/UX Developer to design and implement engaging, user-friendly digital experiences. The ideal candidate will have expertise in UI/UX design principles, front-end development, and modern web technologies to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance user satisfaction and ensure seamless functionality. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Design and develop responsive, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define and implement innovative UI/UX solutions.
- Conduct user research, analyze feedback, and implement improvements to enhance usability and accessibility.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to visualize design concepts and user flows.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ensure adherence to UI/UX best practices, design guidelines, and industry standards.
- Implement interactive elements and animations to enhance user engagement.
- Conduct usability testing and iteratively improve designs based on insights and user behavior.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance UI/UX practices.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Developer or Designer with a strong portfolio of web and mobile projects.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design techniques.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with CSS pre-processors like SASS or LESS.
- Familiarity with back-end technologies (Node.js, Python, or PHP) is a plus.
- Understanding of SEO principles and performance optimization.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
