Our core commitment is child-centered change that will ensure healthy and secure infants, educated and confident children, and youth who are skilled and engage meaningfully in the affairs and decision-making processes within their communities. ChildFund Uganda is working in over 30 districts to develop the capacities of local community-based organizations to be able to mobilize resources and implement programs that improve the well-being of deprived, excluded and vulnerable children. Job Summary:  The Project Officer will implement and coordinate the implementation of an Integrated Early Childhood Education (ECE), child protection, and livelihood project in Parolinya Refugee settlement. The project aims at supporting parents, communities, and early learning centers to increase access to quality early childhood learning at the ECD centers for children 3 to 8 years of age. Child protection and livelihood of parents will be mainstreamed. The Project Officer will ensure that the project activities are met within the project budget and timelines. The Officer will coordinate with Project stakeholders at the ECD centers, the refugee settlement and host communities, and local government. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure that project activities are implemented in a timely and efficient manner in the targeted communities.
- Closely work with and support project stakeholders including parents, ECD caregivers, and community leaders to support implementation of project activities.
- Support acquisition, distribution, and safety of play materials to all targeted children and households.
- Support in organizing events and trainings for parents, Care givers, and Community leaders.
- Manage and account for project funds in compliance with ChildFund’s standards.
- Mobilize and sensitize parents and community members to participate in ECD, child protection and livelihood project interventions at homes, at community level, and at early learning centers.
- Coordinate with key actors in the district and refugee settlement and enhance a strong network of ECD actors.
- Support the documentation and sharing of knowledge and learning experiences generated from the project interventions with project stakeholders.
- Prepare activity reports, monthly and quarterly reports to the Project Manager.
- Performs additional duties as requested.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - The applicant for the ChildFund job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in education/early childhood care and development, Child Development and Children’s Ministry, and Social Sciences, Project Management, and any other relevant course.
- At least two years of professional experience implementing and/or managing community led programs for children 3-8 years in humanitarian/emergency settings.
- Excellent writing and facilitation skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point.
- Strong skills in teamwork and networking.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills in multi-cultural contexts.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle.
- Knowledge/ experience with the local context of the project locations and willingness to work in remote areas is highly preferred.

- Demonstrated inclusive leadership skills, with a commitment to fostering a culture of learning and collaboration among teams.
