Exim Bank (Uganda) (EBU), commonly known as Exim Bank, is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the commercial banks licensed by the Bank of Uganda (BOU), the central bank and national banking regulator.
Job Summary: Â Â The IT Support Officer provides technical support for core banking and alternative systems ensuring timely resolution of service desk tickets in addition to running the daily end-of-day system processing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Run the daily end of day process and ensure the system is ready for the next day’s transactions
- Execute, review and verify daily backups for Core Banking and peripheral applications databases.
- Ensure backups are transferred to DR site and replication is at Sync.
- Perform user rights assignment and management
- Configure, install and manage the applications and databases.
- Provide first level and second level support for all applications and databases.
- Drive and manage the IT service desk ensuring that all reported service requests from branches and customers are resolved within the stipulated SLAs.
- Work with 3rd party vendors in delivering new solutions and change requests while ensuring that the business objectives are met.
- Support SITs and UAT activities for all change requests.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures documents for all IT processes
- Proactively communicate with business and stakeholders on any service failures and expected resolution times
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT related courses preferably Computer Science.
- At least 1.5 years in IT, Banking or related Experience.
- Sound Knowledge of Digital Banking Products will be added advantage.
- Hands-on experience in IT Applications, Core Banking Support, Infrastructure and IT Operations.
- Highly analytical in problem solving with the ability to apply original and innovative thinking.
