Job Summary: Â Â Norvik Hospital is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk. The ideal candidate will have a background in hospital reception, knowledge of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS), and experience with insurance processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Register patients using the hospital’s HMIS, ensuring accurate data entry of personal and medical information.
Schedule patient appointments, consultations, and follow-ups while managing the hospital’s appointment calendar.
Coordinate patient admissions and discharges, ensuring all required documentation is processed efficiently.
Handle patient inquiries and provide information about hospital services, insurance coverage, and payment options.
Manage incoming phone calls, route them to appropriate departments, and take messages as needed.
Assist patients in processing medical insurance claims and ensure accurate documentation and follow-up.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with hospital policies and privacy regulations.
Support administrative tasks, such as filing, document management, and office supply inventory.
Handle payments and maintain accurate billing records for patient services.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in a hospital setting or healthcare environment, preferably as a receptionist.
Proficiency in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) is a must.
Knowledge of medical insurance processes and claims handling is an added advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
