Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK) was established by the Statutory instrument No. 31 of 2011: The Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Acts, 2006 (Establishment of Uganda Petroleum Institute, Kigumba) in July, 2011. The
mandate of UPIK is to provide a world-class education in geosciences and petroleum engineering in order to support and advance the petroleum and energy sectors in Uganda, East Africa and beyond.
Job Summary: Â The Enrolled Nurse/Midwife will provide quality nursing services to patients and participate in implementing public health Interventions in the community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Registering and preparing patients for diagnosis;
- Providing Quality nursing care and treatment to patients;
- Observing and keeping proper records about the patients:
- Participating in Doctors / Clinical Officers’ Ward rounds;
- Participating in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring lean
- Preparing patients for meals and participate in serving them:
- Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the patients;
- Supervising and appraising Nursing Assistants and support staff:
- Sensitizing patients and their attendants about tragic health care practices: and
- Compiling and submitting daily nursing care service activity reports.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Must have Enrolled Nursing/ Midwifery Certificate from a recognized
- Two years of relevant experience
- Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Guidance and counseling;
- Concern for quality and standards of nursing care.
- Ethics and integrity and
- Time management
- Age Limit: Below 35 years
