Established in 2006 with offices in England and across the region, we offer Human Resources Consulting and Payroll Management Services, Admin Support Services, Executive Search, Corporate and Personal Development Training, HR Compliance Audits, among others. Job Summary: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
- Analyze financial information and summarize the financial status.
- Manage Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes, including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries, weekly check runs, and monthly accruals.
- Provide technical support and advice on Management Accountant.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Ensure vendor invoices and check requests are paid according to policies, and follow up on unapproved invoices.
- Prepare financial statements and produce budgets according to the schedule.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers.
- Plan, assign, and review staff’s work.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
- Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and expenses.
- Participate in financial standards setting and forecast processes.
- Report the organization’s financial status to management and offer suggestions for resource utilization, tax strategies, and budget forecasts.
- Direct all operational aspects, including distribution, customer service, human resources, and sales, in accordance with organizational objectives.
- Guide managerial and operational decision-making and strategy implementation for sustainable value creation.
- Contribute to strong client relationships through positive interaction and by answering accounting procedure questions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional Certification: CPA, ACCA, CIA, or Post graduate or Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years in accounting or finance in a busy organisation.
- Experience in manufacturing, banking, or logistics is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or other ERP systems.
- Ability to prepare, analyze, and present management and financial reports (Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Comprehensive Income, Cash Flow Statements).
- Knowledge of Ugandan tax laws and regulations, and experience in preparing and filing tax returns.
