Job Summary: Â The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. They will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing valuable insights to support business decisions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and records.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and income tax.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
- Assist in audits and other financial examinations.
- Provide support and guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
