Dalilang Foods & Beverages is a Ugandan FMCG manufacturer producing packaged snacks, including potato crisps, gonja chips, coated peanuts and peanut butter, alongside spring water, fruit nectars and energy drinks.

Job Description

Operate horizontal flow wrapping machinery to package tray packed snacks and snack bars while safeguarding seal integrity.

Support packaging line efficiency and product quality by monitoring equipment parameters, materials, and finished goods continuously.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal flow wrap equipment according to standard start up, running, changeover, and shutdown procedures.
• Verify that the work area, packaging materials, and machine safety guards are properly set up before starting production runs.
• Perform routine visual, dimensional, weight, temperature, seal integrity, and alignment checks across the packaging run.
• Adjust film tracking, sealing temperatures, and machine speed within authorized operational limits.
• Identify packaging and product defects promptly, segregating non compliant stock and reporting recurring faults.
• Execute cleaning, sanitation, and line clearance during product changeovers to remove residues, codes, and previous materials.
• Escalate equipment faults and technical breakdowns promptly when issues exceed authorized operator intervention levels.
• Maintain complete, legible, and accurate shift logs, quality checklists, and production records.
• Follow all food hygiene, occupational safety, machine guarding, and personal protective equipment standards.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Ordinary Diploma or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Food Processing, Production Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Sciences, Printing Technology, or a related technical discipline
• National Certificate, Craft Certificate, Technical Trade Certificate, or relevant TVET qualification in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance discipline
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) demonstrating literacy, numeracy, and mechanical aptitude

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Includes 3 weeks of flow wrap machine operation training.
