We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to join our team as a Fleet Manager. Purpose: The Fleet Manager will oversee the entire fleet operation, including trucks and forklift, ensuring vehicle safety, driver compliance, maintenance scheduling, enforce company policies, coordinate fleet activities for smooth logistical and efficient transport operations. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Fleet Operations and Supervision - Oversee trucks and forklift operations, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Delegate daily fleet tasks to the Assistant Department Manager, forklift supervisor and provide guidance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for drivers and fleet staff.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety standards and company policies.
2. Truck Logistics and Route Planning - Plan and assign truck dispatch schedules for timely deliveries.
- Work closely with the Assistant Department Manager to monitor trip logs, fuel usage and driver reports.
- Ensure efficient loading and offloading operations at designated locations.
3. Forklift Operations and Coordination - Ensure safe forklift operations in warehouses and loading bays.
- Supervise forklift drivers and assign the supervisor to oversee shift operations.
- Enforce proper lifting, stacking and load handling protocols.
4. Maintenance and Repairs Management - Schedule routine maintenance for trucks and forklifts.
- Work closely with Mechanics to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure forklifts and trucks are always roadworthy and compliant.
5. Drivers Supervision and Training - Supervise drivers, ensuring discipline is maintained and efficiency is adhered to.
- Oversee and track attendance, shift schedules and driver conduct.
- Conduct and arrange for driver training sessions on safety, defensive driving and operations.
- Implement corrective action plans for driver violations.
6. Compliance, Reporting and Communication - Ensure all fleet operations follow legal procedures and company policies.
- Prepare fleet reports, including fuel consumption reports, road incidents reports, maintenance reports etc.
- Investigate accidents and operational challenges, providing timely reports to management.
- Act as a liaison focal person between fleet team and management.
7. Competencies/Abilities: - Ability to multi-task and deal with diverse responsibilities.
- Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
- Analytical, communication and writing skills.
- Problem-solving and creative work approach and openness to feedback.
- Excellent management and organizational skills.
- A pro-active self-starter who can operate both individually and as part of a team.
- Able to drive engagement within staff, innovative and flexible.
- Self-motivated, result oriented and ability to work independently.
8. Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience - Bachelorâs Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or any related field is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) yearsâ experience in logistics management, operations, and fleet.
- Proven experience working in production, manufacturing or operations environment.
- Knowledge of vehicle safety, compliance and fuel management.
- Ability to analyze reports, optimize fleet operations and enforce policies.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good delegation and team coordination skills.
