They take individual metal parts and prepare or assemble them into the final structure. Key Responsibilities: - Layout and Measuring: Mark reference points and layout for cutting and welding.
- Aligning Components: Use clamps, jigs, and other tools to hold parts in the correct position and alignment for welding. This is critical for accuracy.
- Tack Welding: Perform small, temporary welds to hold components in place before the Welder does the final welds.
- Assembly: Fit and assemble metal components and structures based on engineering drawings.
- Precision: Use measuring tools (calipers, squares, tape measures) to ensure parts are fitted to exact specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and correct any issues with part dimensions or fit-up before final welding.
