Background
Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd ("WGG") is Uganda's first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:
Job Summary
Financial accounting, tax filing, cost analysis, and tax planning for the Wagagai project and other Hongda Group projects in Uganda.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification. ERP certification is a plus.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in accounting and cost accounting within the mining or manufacturing sectors; familiarity with Ugandan tax laws and the regulatory requirements of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development regarding mining enterprises.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in financial software systems such as YonyouCloud U9 or Tally; capability in data migration, report customization, and the preparation of IFRS-compliant financial reports.
Other Requirements
Experience with reporting for lenders and project finance modeling.
