Purpose To prepare, teach, mentor, and assess undergraduate and postgraduate diploma students using current, innovative, appropriate, and effective teaching and learning methodologies and tools that enhance student learning and academic success. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning The successful candidate will be expected to: - Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate diploma students.
- Develop teaching schedules, lesson plans, and lecture materials before the commencement of each semester and submit them to the Head of Department.
- Mentor students to enhance their academic and professional development.
- Train and mentor Teaching Assistants to strengthen their teaching and learning competencies.
- Assess students through continuous assessments, practicals, coursework, and end-of-semester examinations.
- Invigilate examinations, mark scripts, and submit examination results within the stipulated timelines.
- Supervise student internships and fieldwork in accordance with approved departmental schedules.
- Attend departmental meetings and actively contribute to academic discussions.
- Prepare and submit quarterly reports on academic activities to the immediate supervisor.
Research, Publications, Consultancy, and Grants The successful candidate will be expected to: - Support and mentor students in research, scholarly writing, grant proposal development, and consultancy activities.
- Conduct scholarly research and publish in reputable academic journals.
- Deliver public lectures and contribute to academic knowledge dissemination.
- Review undergraduate research proposals and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Participate as a member of the Faculty Research and Innovation Committee.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals, consultancy projects, and grant applications.
Community Engagement The successful candidate will be expected to: - Participate in community outreach and engagement initiatives aligned with the University's mission.
- Work with communities and organizations to identify challenges related to their area of expertise and contribute to sustainable solutions.
- Support the immediate supervisor in building and maintaining partnerships with communities, industry, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in student-related community engagement and collaborative initiatives.
Key Competencies The ideal candidate should demonstrate: - Excellent teaching and facilitation skills.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Applicants must possess: - A Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- A First Class or Second Class Upper (Division I or II Upper) Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least three (3) years' university teaching experience or relevant professional experience in a reputable organization or industry.
- At least two (2) recognized publications in the area of specialization published within the last two (2) years.
- Demonstrated evidence of meaningful community engagement and service.
