GULU CITY EASTERN CAMPUS is situated in Red cross building in Bwonagweno cell Ariaga ward, Pece-Laroo Division, GULU CITY WESTERN CAMPUS is situated in Keyi. A Kasubi ward, Bardege -Layibi division and BUNGATIRA CAMPUS located in Cetkana village, Atiaba north Bungatira sub county Gulu district.

POSITION: Farm Assistants
WORKSTATION: AFRICAN INSTITUTE FARM-BUNGATIRA CAMPUS
REPORT TO: FARM MANAGER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide care for crops and animals in the school farms
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY
• Feed and look after poultry, fish and livestock in the farm
• Able to treat animals and manage crops to prevent pest and disease’s
• Manage fields, sow seeds and harvest crops
• Operate all available machinery in the farms
• Maintain general cleanliness of Agricultural infrastructure
• Provide assistants to students during their farm practice
• Any other responsibilities assigned
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
National certificate in Agriculture or any other Agricultural courses.
AGE LIMIT
Applicant should be 25 years and above
CONTRACT
This employment attracts a yearly contract after finishing your probationary period of six (6) months
POSITION: Farm Manager
WORK STATION: AFRICAN INSTITUTE FARM-BUNGATIRA CAMPUS
REPORT TO: DEPUTY PRINCIPAL in charge of ADMINISTRATION -BUNGATIRA CAMPUS
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY
• Planning and Organization: Develops and implements farm plans, sets goals, and prioritizes tasks
• Crop and Livestock Management: Oversees crop cultivation, harvesting, and livestock breeding, nutrition, and health.
• Financial Management: Manages farm finances, budgets, and ensures profitability.
• Human Resource Management: Supervises, trains, and motivates farm staff.
• Marketing and Sales: Identifies markets, negotiates prices, and ensures timely delivery of farm products.
• Equipment and Infrastructure Management: Maintains and repairs farm equipment, buildings, and infrastructure.
• Environmental Management: Implements sustainable farming practices, manages waste, and maintains ecosystem balance.
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintains accurate records, prepares reports, and analyzes data for informed decision-making.
• Pest and Disease Management: Develops and implements integrated pest management strategies.
• Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Research and Development: Stays updated on new technologies, practices, and research to improve farm efficiency and productivity
• Risk Management: Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks to ensure farm stability and resilience.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
• A minimum of a diploma in agriculture or its Equivalent
• Additional course in Business management or administration will be an added advantage
• Extensive experience working in horticultural farm or related crop farm
• Management experience would be a plus
• You must posses a strong passion for Agriculture
• Teaching experience is also an added advantage
AGE LIMIT
Applicant should be 30 years and above
CONTRACT
