Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership and Vision:
• Develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan in alignment with its mission and vision.
• Lead the organization in achieving its goals and objectives, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the organization.
2. Program Development and Management:
• Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs to ensure they meet the needs of the youth and communities served.
• Ensure programs are aligned with organizational goals and donor requirements.
• Monitor program outcomes and impact, and provide regular reports to the Board of Directors and stakeholders.
3. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure funding from diverse sources, including grants, donations, and partnerships.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Lead grant writing efforts and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
4. Financial Management:
• Oversee the organization’s financial health, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
• Ensure sound financial management practices and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Work with the Board of Directors to develop and approve annual budgets and financial plans.
5. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, private sector partners, and community leaders.
• Represent the organization at local, national, and international forums to promote its mission and programs.
• Advocate for youth empowerment and collaborate with stakeholders to advance the organization’s goals.
6. Organizational Management:
• Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of staff and volunteers.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
7. Board Relations:
• Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates on organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
• Support the Board in governance and decision-making processes.
• Implement Board policies and directives effectively
Qualifications and Experience:
• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of senior leadership experience in the non-profit sector, preferably in youth development, education, or community empowerment.
• Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and resource mobilization.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the Ugandan non-profit landscape and youth development issues is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software.
