Ensures operators are competent, equipment meets safety standards, and operational risks are minimized. Duties & Responsibilities - Design and implement training programs for equipment operators.
- Deliver hands-on and classroom training on equipment operation, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Ensure that all equipment operators receive the necessary and appropriate training to safely and effectively operate the machinery they are qualified for.
- Identifying training needs and requesting additional training when required, in alignment with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Responsible for conducting testing and assessments of equipment operators and drivers prior to their admission to ensure that only qualified personnel are approved to operate machinery, maintaining high standards of safety, competence, and operational readiness.
- Conduct regular inspections of construction equipment to ensure safety and operational standards.
- Identify and document equipment deficiencies; coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.
- Ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections and equipment status.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and update content to improve learning outcomes.
- Maintain records of training sessions and operator certifications.
- Promote and enforce adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
- Lead safety meetings focused on equipment-related hazards.
- Stay informed on industry standards and best practices in equipment safety.
- Prepare reports on equipment condition, training progress, and safety compliance a safety-first culture among operators and site personnel.
- Collaborate with project managers, safety officers, and supervisors to align training and inspection efforts with project goals.
- Provide feedback on equipment performance and operator competency.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience - Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Trainer of Trainer certification in heavy machinery or construction equipment
- Equipment operation and safety certifications
- Certification in heavy Equipment Operations
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in equipment operations, training, or inspection roles on construction sites on large scale complex project
- Familiarity with equipment management systems and digital reporting tools.
- Certification in Machine applications and Performance systems
- Proven Ability to deliver effective training programs tailored to different equipment and operator levels.
- Possess the required Skills in testing and evaluating operators for competence and safety compliance
- Ability to resolve issues in relation to operator performance, equipment misuse, and training gaps
