About this offer

Context and environment
There is no equivalent project of such an industrial drilling magnitude in a remote and sensitive area within the Company today.
A Green Field Project, the Tilenga field is to be found in a remote location in UGANDA near lake Albert with particularly sensitive environmental conditions.
A challenging project: heavy and waxy oils produced from 31 drilling pads, (with some of them located in a national park) and treated in a Production Center of 200,000 bopd oil capacity and 650,000 bld of water treatment capacity. Reservoir pressure maintenance is ensured either by water injection or by polymer water injection depending on the reservoirs characteristics. The project also includes an extended interconnecting network with temperature preservation.
Multicultural environment: Contractors are anticipated to be in various parts of the world. Ugandan rules and regulations, administrative requirements and technical authorizations as well as international codes for onshore plant will apply.
Accountabilities
Ensure âTotal Group Referentialâ is implemented throughout TILENGA Project for all Electrical discipline related activities and liaise with TDO/EXP division as required.
Participate in the training and coaching of TEPU production personnel and maintenance contractor personnel assigned to the Project.
Throughout the Project, the main responsibilities of the Electrical Commissioning Engineer are:
To provide technical assistance for the preparation and execution of the Tilenga pre-commissioning and commissioning for the electrical facilities regarding:
- All Electrical packages and equipment on board the project. Including instrument and electrical interfaces with mechanical equipment.
- Specific focus on rotating machinery, turbo generators and compressors, HV & MV Switchgears and interface with ICSS systems
Create an environment in which a focus on value awareness is developed and constantly think in terms of cost/benefit trade-off.
Identify, adopt creative and alternative approaches to problem solving and encourage others to do same.
Qualifications/Experience required
Qualification:
- HND (or equivalent) Appropriate Electrical engineering qualification with associated experience of supervising operation and/or commissioning in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, large utility operations/projects.
Experience:
- Professional Experience (number of years): Minimum 10-12 years.
- Expert knowledge and experience of electrical and safety systems Commissioning & Start up work preparing commissioning strategy, developing network planning, coordinating integrated plan, contractor follow up and supervision during pre-commissioning and commissioning, management of systems handover process and integration with field operations teams.
- Proven experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of HV & MV Electrical systems.
- A broad knowledge of all aspects of the E&P business, experience in a multi-project E&P company environment with a thorough understanding of the technical and commercial issues and risks associated with the project.
- Experience in site electrical discipline or integrated team
- Management and leadership skills to guide a team of multi-disciplined personnel including contractors
- A good awareness of other disciplines. Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office. English mandatory.
- Valid Medical Certificate which complies with Company standards.
- Definition of sub-system boundary limits and commissioning packages within sub-systems. Definition of electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning scope within the sub-systems.
- Follow up and intervention in contractor's preparation for pre-commissioning and commissioning scope for both onshore and offshore. Planning and progress reporting.
- Approval of contractor's methods and strategies for commissioning. Approval of contractors system commissioning procedures and Operational Test Procedures.
- Ensure all pre-commissioning and commissioning execution activities are carried out safely and in accordance with the project HSE plan.
- Witness contractor's performance of pre-commissioning to achieve mechanical Completion on a sub-system basis. Planning and progress reporting.
- Expert knowledge of commissioning completion system (ICAPS). Other completion system experience is relevant.
- Approval of contractor's commissioning planning and follow up of progress according to plan.
- Approval of contractor's punch list activities and control of punch list items including sign-off of punch list items. Planning and progress reporting.
- Witness contractor's performance of onshore commissioning to achieve AOC on system and sub-system basis. Approval of contractor's pre-commissioning and commissioning files. Planning and progress reporting.
- Follow up of contractor's FAT activities at supplier premises. Planning and progress reporting.
- Assistance and contractor follow up during offshore installation, hook-up and commissioning and production start-up. Progress reporting and planning.
- Ensure âTotalEnergies Referentialâ is implemented throughout TILENGA Project for all instrument electrical disciplines related activities and related with profession as required.
- Participate in the training and coaching of TEPU production personnel and maintenance contractor personnel assigned to the Plant.
- Ensure personnel involved in HV & MV are properly certified for relevant competency & register maintained.
- Approve all electrical energization of any new system during commissioning.
- Ensure HV energization PSSR are validated.
- Conduct site audits for safe commissioning & operating of all electrical sub stations.
- Liaise with contractor & vendor for sitewide commissioning of HVAC equipment's.
- Expert knowledge of commissioning completion system (ICAPS).
- Management and leadership skills.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
