Background

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. In Uganda, we are currently seeking to recruit an Electrical Artisan, based at the Rwenzori Plant in Kampala.

As an Electrical Artisan, you will report directly to theTeam Leader, Packaging.

Key Purpose Statement

To maintain and optimize electrical systems and equipment through effective maintenance, fault resolution, asset care, and adherence to safety, quality, and food safety standards to ensure reliable and efficient operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Electrical Maintenance & Reliability: Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
• Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose electrical and automation faults and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime and production losses.
• Asset Care & Performance Monitoring: Support asset care initiatives and monitor equipment performance to maximize availability and efficiency.
• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures and improve performance.
• Safety, Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with EOSH, GMP, food safety, quality, and electrical safety standards in all maintenance activities.
• Spare Parts & Cost Control: Manage electrical spare parts effectively to support maintenance requirements while optimizing costs.
• Technical Support & Capability Development: Provide technical support and coaching to operations teams on equipment operation, fault identification, and basic asset care practices.
• Maintenance Planning & Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance records, participate in shift handovers, and support maintenance planning and continuous improvement activities.
• Business System Implementation and Compliance with Business Systems, including SC Ways (Supply Chain Ways), internal Quality and Food Safety systems, and Coca-Cola requirements. Drive the maturity of these systems through supply chain work practices.

Skills, Experience & Education

QUALIFICATIONS.

• Minimum requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Electronics & Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
• Trade Test Certification in Electrical Engineering is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG.
• Experience in industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, and automation systems.
