- Develop, implement, administer, and maintain EHS protocol of use of PPEs and adherence to safety and health related programs.
- Review and update the corporate EHS management system manual and monitor its implementation
- Prepare EHS training plan and in coordination with the Human Resource Department provide relevant training to staff.
- Formulating corporate short term and long term EHS objectives and plans
- Carry out accident and incident investigations.
- Promote EHS plans and monitor, evaluate and report performance against plan
- Maintain auditing expertise and ensure execution of the quarterly audit program
- Maintain contacts with external parties regarding environment, Health and Safety, including government institutions.
- Provide advice on Environment, Health and safety to line departments
- Promote the potential incident reporting culture by compiling all filled in reports
- Adhere to the health and safety and QMS guidelines at all times.
- Compile EHS data and report all reportable incidents to HOD accurately and within specified time frame.
- Any other duties assigned by the SHEQ Manager
Authority & Independence The EHS Officer has full authority delegated by the SHEQ Manager as per the requirements, duties and responsibility of the job Work Conditions - The work may involve constant movements to different locations out of office.
- May require working for long hours.
- May require constant visits to plants
Physical & Mental Efforts - Must be mentally stable to contain stress and pressure.
- Must be of a sound mind.
- Must be of sound health.
- Sensory stability due to much concentration required for the job
Education Qualifications & Experience - BSc Environmental Science or BSc Industrial Chemistry and any other related discipline.
- Knowledge of various laws, regulations, guidelines, procedures affecting a manufacturing organization.
- 2 years of relevant experience in a similar field is required
Skills & Competences - Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Professional personal presentation
- Customer service orientation skills.
- Considerable ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; and compose effective and accurate correspondence
- Dealing with non-routine matters, such as special projects, with minimum specific instructions
- Familiarity with the tools, concepts and methodologies of system management.
- Decision making skills is required.
