Purpose To teach, supervise, mentor, and evaluate undergraduate and graduate students; conduct and disseminate research within the area of specialization; participate in community engagement activities; and supervise and mentor academic staff below the rank of Senior Lecturer. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning The successful candidate will be expected to: - Prepare, deliver, mentor, supervise, and evaluate undergraduate and graduate students using current, effective, and appropriate teaching and learning methodologies.
- Liaise with the Head of Department (HOD) to ensure that teaching schedules for undergraduate and graduate programmes are prepared and available before the beginning of each semester.
- Assess students through continuous assessments and end-of-semester examinations using appropriate methods, including coursework, viva voce, practical assessments, and written examinations.
- Ensure timely marking and submission of students' results to the department.
- Train and mentor graduate students and academic staff below their rank to enhance teaching, research, and academic skills.
- Compile quarterly reports on academic activities and submit them to the Head of Department.
- Participate in programme development, curriculum review, and academic improvement initiatives.
- Supervise student internships, fieldwork, and practical learning activities within the discipline.
- Attend departmental and faculty meetings as required.
- Serve on faculty academic, innovation, research, and other relevant committees.
Research, Publications, Consultancy, and Grants The successful candidate will be expected to: - Conduct, supervise, and participate in innovative research activities within their area of expertise.
- Disseminate research findings through:
- Peer-reviewed research journals and scholarly publications.
- Public lectures, conferences, symposia, seminars, and workshops.
- Work with the Head of Department to support high-quality postgraduate research supervision and attract research students to the University.
- Develop and submit research grant proposals and consultancy bids as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Lead Consultant in their area of specialization.
- Review research grant proposals developed by graduate students and academic staff, providing guidance and constructive feedback.
- Provide expertise, strategic direction, and academic leadership within their research field.
- Participate in the review of journals, publications, and academic books within their discipline.
- Maintain a strong record of regular, original, and high-quality research publications in reputable academic outlets.
Community Engagement The successful candidate will be expected to: - Participate in community engagement and outreach activities to identify challenges related to their area of expertise and contribute to solutions.
- Serve as a professional contact person for stakeholders within their field of specialization.
- Participate in relevant conferences, symposia, seminars, and workshops to share and disseminate research findings.
- Support the Dean and Head of Department in establishing and maintaining partnerships with communities, organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to student-related community engagement activities and collaborations.
Financial Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: - Generate revenue through research grants, consultancy projects, and other academic partnerships that support the department and University.

- A Master's degree in the relevant field.
- A First Class or Second Class Upper Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least three (3) years of university teaching experience or relevant professional experience in a reputable organization or industry.
- At least six (6) recognized publications in the area of specialization, with at least three (3) publications where the applicant is the First Author, Corresponding Author, or Senior Author.
- Demonstrated evidence of contribution to community engagement and service.
