Responsibilities or duties
Teaching and Learning:
Prepare, teach, and evaluate undergraduate students using innovative and appropriate teaching methodologies and tools. Develop course materials and assessments that meet the needs of students in Early Childhood Education. Prepare teaching schedules and lecture materials before the semester begins and submit them to the Head of Department.
Student Mentorship and Support:
Provide academic guidance and support to students. Supervise students' internship or fieldwork in their discipline as per the departmental schedule. Train and mentor Teaching Assistants in their area of expertise to build their teaching skills.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Evaluate students using continuous assessments and end-of-semester examinations through effective assessment tools, marking and submitting results on time. Set, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and examinations in a fair and timely manner.
Research and Scholarship:
Conduct research and disseminate findings through conferences, seminars, and publications. Write proposals for attracting funds to the department and participate in scholarly work such as writing peer-reviewed articles and attending conferences.
Departmental and Community Service:
Contribute to departmental, institute, and community service activities. Attend departmental and faculty meetings when called upon. Participate in community engagement activities to identify problems related to the area of expertise and work towards solutions.

Typed application letters should be submitted in triplicate to the University Secretary, Muni University, P.O. Box 725, Arua, or the Kampala Liaison office at UMA Show Ground, Unit No.3, 2nd Floor, Lugogo, Next to Prisons Show Room to be received not later than Monday 17th, August 2026 at 5:00pm.
