Recruitment is contingent upon confirmation of funding by UNOCHA's Uganda Humanitarian Fund. Key Responsibilities - Safely transport staff, visitors, equipment, and authorised items as assigned in compliance with traffic laws and YSAT procedures
- Conduct daily vehicle checks including tyres, oil, water, fuel, and lights; maintain vehicles in clean, safe, and roadworthy condition
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, mileage records, fuel consumption, and movement documentation
- Report mechanical faults, accidents, damage, or vehicle-related concerns immediately
- Support movement and delivery of programme materials, equipment, and supplies when assigned
- Ensure all required vehicle documents including insurance, inspection, and permits are valid and available
Requirements - Valid driving permit appropriate for the vehicle category; minimum secondary education; additional training in defensive driving or vehicle maintenance is an added advantage
- At least 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an organisation, NGO, or humanitarian agency
- Demonstrated experience driving Land Cruiser and other 4-wheel-drive vehicles in rural, refugee-settlement, or challenging road conditions
- Clean driving record with good knowledge of Ugandan road traffic rules
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, reliability, and ability to work flexible hours with regular field travel
