Job Description:
The District Education Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing education services in the district. They ensure the implementation of government education policies, the development of schools, and the promotion of quality education standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinating and supervising all educational programs within the district.
• Monitoring the performance of schools and ensuring compliance with national education standards.
• Advising the district administration on matters related to education policy and programs.
• Supporting the development and implementation of school work plans and budgets.
• Supervising teachers and school administrators to enhance educational quality.
• Preparing regular reports on the state of education in the district.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognized institution.
• A Postgraduate qualification in Education Management or a related field is an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in teaching or school administration.
• Strong knowledge of Uganda’s education policies and curriculum.

Applications are to be submitted in triplicate on a Public Service Form 3 (PSF 3) (Revised 2008) and ESC Form No.3 (Revised 2008) for teachers to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 01, Mbarara, to be received not later than 17th February, 2025.
