The Director builds the systems, standards, and evidence base to grow additional Technical Assistance projects. This role leads the Technical Assistance Country Program Managers. The Director also ensures that results are documented well building the knowledge base, sector credibility, and donor-ready communication that Water for Good needs to grow Technical Assistance as well as the Vision of a Healthy Village. Responsibilities & Duties Overview: Resolve cross-country issues and make the trade-off calls that country leads cannot make alone. Delivery & Performance Management of Technical Assistance Projects - Leadership of all Technical Assistance programs, including overall delivery against the grant agreement.
- Establish delivery standards, stage gates, and review cadences that apply across the TA portfolio. Run regular portfolio reviews covering progress, risk, budget, and partner satisfaction.
- Build and hold relationships with the implementing partner organizations, national government agencies, and WASH networks. Maintain a consolidated risk register and drive mitigation to closure.
- Build the tools, templates, and playbooks that make each new TA engagement faster to launch than the last.
- Represent the TA portfolio in global program and leadership forums.
Data, Knowledge Management, KPI Monitoring & Reporting - Deliver accurate, on-time reporting to donors, the Senior Leadership Team, and the Board as required by maintaining dashboards and reporting
Quality Assurance, Innovation, Sustainability & Organizational Learning - Responsible for data and knowledge management, KPI monitoring and reporting
- Set and enforce technical quality standards for TA delivery, Establish quality assurance processes covering design review, field verification, and corrective action follow-through.
- Lead structured learning reviews and feed findings into Water for Goodâs global practice and strategic planning.
Technical Assistance, Capacity Strengthening & Business Development - Identify and pursue new TA opportunities, and lead or contribute to proposals, concept notes, and pricing.
- Build internal capability so Water for Good staff can deliver TA at consistent quality as the portfolio grows.
Team Leadership & People Development - Lead, coach, and develop direct reports with regular one-on-ones and clear expectations.
- Manage performance through Water for Goodâs goal-setting, quarterly assessment, and review processes.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and structure the TA team as the portfolio grows, in coordination with the manager and Human Resources.
- Invest in local leadership depth so capability sits close to the work rather than at headquarters.
- Build a team culture reflecting Water for Goodâs core values of love, curiosity, collaboration, sustainability, and stewardship.
- Address performance and conduct concerns directly, fairly, and promptly, with HR support.
