Learn more about our impactful programs at www.raisingthevillage.org The VENN department is the data and technology backbone of our organization, connecting advanced analytics, and custom software tools with field implementation to ensure data-informed decision-making at every level. Job Summary: The Data Analyst - Pilots and Innovation shall be responsible for generating evidence that informs strategic decisions across Raising The Village's Innovation, Pilot, and Restricted Project Portfolio. The role sits within the Data Insights and Innovation unit of the VENN Department and serves as a bridge between data, research, program implementation, and decision-making. The successful candidate will support the design, measurement, and learning agenda of pilot initiatives and restricted projects. They will be expected to transform data into actionable recommendations, conduct analytical research, guide on the experimental designs, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide evidence on whether interventions should be scaled, adapted, or discontinued. This role is ideal for a naturally curious and analytical individual who enjoys solving complex problems, testing hypotheses, evaluating new ideas, and translating evidence into practical programmatic decisions. Roles and Responsibilities: Pilot Design, Evaluation and Learning - Support the design of pilots and restricted/Special projects, including theories of change, learning agendas, research questions, and measurement frameworks.
- Develop indicators, evaluation plans, and success metrics to assess pilot performance.
- Support the implementation and evaluation of experimental and quasi-experimental studies.
- Conduct post-pilot reviews and generate recommendations for scale-up, redesign, or discontinuation.
Data Analysis and Insight Generation - Analyse quantitative and qualitative data from pilots and restricted projects.
- Identify trends, drivers of success, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop insights, analytical reports and decision-support tools for leadership.
- Translate complex findings into concise, actionable recommendations.
- Produce rapid analyses and learning briefs to support adaptive management.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements.
Research and Evidence Synthesis - Conduct desk research, literature reviews and benchmarking exercises.
- Stay informed on emerging best practices, innovations, and evidence relevant to RTV's program areas.
- Synthesize evidence from multiple sources to support project design and strategic decisions.
Knowledge Management and Collaboration - Document pilot methodologies, findings, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Maintain repositories of evidence, analyses, and project learnings.
- Collaborate closely with Programs Team, Partnerships, Planning & Design, Implementation and other key stakeholders.
Professional Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related statistical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, program evaluation, research, monitoring and evaluation, or a related field.
- Experience conducting analytical research and developing evidence-based recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Technical Requirements - Proficiency in R, Python, and/or advanced STATA or MS Excel.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or Shiny.
- Strong understanding of data management, data quality assurance, and analytical workflows.
- Experience with survey and data collection platforms such as SurveyCTO, ODK, Kobo or CommCare.
- Familiarity with experimental and quasi-experimental evaluation methods.
- Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative evidence into actionable insights.
