Job Description/Requirements - Provide direction for a team of data analysts.
- Be accountable for the integrity, quantity, quality, completeness and sanity of data assets at The company.
- Lead the sourcing, collection, collation, encoding, processing, cleansing/repairing and storing of all data relevant to the operations of The company.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all data collected from data providers.
- Identify sources of data relevant to The company’s operations and initiate engagement with such sources with a view to securing a data collections agreement.
- Work with the CEO to produce and monetize reports drives from data The company’s repository.
- Liaise with relevant authority on data related policies.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures and overall data management strategy.
- Take the lead in developing processes for e?ective data analysis, interpretation and reporting.
- Advise/Update Management on changes to statutory requirements stated in various laws including but not limited to the Credit Bureau Law and the Data Protection Act of Uganda.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date data files, records, and documentation.
- Aid management’s quarterly audits of data files and records aimed at ensuring that defined processes are abided by, and that required access forms or data processing documents are completed and filed appropriately.
- Aid and co-operate fully with external auditors without compromising sensitive corporate information.
- Answer frequently asked questions relating to data relative to standard policies, procedures and general operation of The company’s Data Management Department.
- Prompt resolution of data-related disputes and self inquiry requests lodged. • Maintain a complete record of disputes resolved, source(s) of the disputes and remedial action taken.Â
 Candidate’s Profile. - Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering or associates degree in related field required.
- At least 5 years of experience in similar role.
- Passion for Data and Data Analysis/Analytics.
- Post Graduate Qualification in Data Science or Data Analytics will be a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of credit or financial data. • Willingness to align with both short-term and long-term business strategy of The company.
- Good knowledge of data analysis, data monitoring, and the ability to explain and champion data management best practice.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written), organizational and project management skills
- SAS programming skills, including macro and SQL, in Unix/Linux and database environments.
- Ability to work e?ectively in a cross-functional organization and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Experience and ability to process and prepare information with the highest levels of accuracy and designing techniques for measuring the cost and impact of errors.
- Ability to apply analytical thinking to identify many possible causes for a problem and weighs the costs, benefits, risks, and chances for success before recommending a course of action.
- Excellent organizational skills, having the ability to prioritize workload whilst being resilient and being able to cope under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Vigilance and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of, and ability to adhere to internal controls.
- Experience executing tasks related to data collection, cleansing, correction, processing and storing.
- Experience building strategies, frameworks, solution designs and implementation related to data privacy and protection
- Experience in and knowledge of Data Science is an advantage.Â
