JOB DETAILS: About This Job: Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan. On behalf of our client EACOP, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Senior Logistics Supervisor to work in Uganda Position In The Organisation Reports to: Logistics Manager Staff managed (directly supervised): Staff managed (indirectly): Missions / Job Dimensions The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project involves the construction and operation of a buried, cross border pipeline to transport crude oil from the Lake Albert area in Uganda to the eastern coast of Tanzania for export to international markets. The pipeline will run from Kabaale in Hoima District, Uganda, to Chongoleani, Tanga Region, in Tanzania. The length of the pipeline is 1,443 kilometres (km) of which 296 km will be in Uganda. In Uganda the pipeline will traverse ten (10) Districts, comprising Hoima, Kikuube, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Mubende, Gomba, Sembabule, Lwengo, Rakai and Kyotera. The Senior Logistics Supervisor is responsible for conducting interface management of the Construction Contractors Logistics and transportation activity, provide effective supervision of change activity to assure adequate protection of the company against potential supplier claims and work with other responsible Supply Management leadership regarding development, implementation and support of Supply Management programs and procedures The Jobholder reports to the Logistics Manager and works closely with all other departments. Activities • Execution of company policies and procedures relating to logistics management (including but not limited to, safety and ethics). • The production of timely, accurate logistics administration activities. • Effective supervision of change activity to assure adequate protection of the company against potential supplier claims. • Timely, accurate problem identification, status reporting and corrective action. • Works with other responsible Supply Management leadership regarding development, implementation and support of Supply Management programs and procedures. • Works with Procurement Department Manager to plan and support Supply Management execution for the operation. • Coordinates with Project Management, and Construction Management during project execution. • Assures compliance with Supply Management policies and procedures. • Supervises logistics staff assigned to the operation. • Conduct the leadership of logistics team functions, including administration, for a large project. • Establish and implement effective logistics management leadership, systems, methods and procedures for the office and country. • Provides guidance on logistics management interface matters to the country office or region personnel. • Is fully conversant with of all HES / R3 transport and site requirements. Context And Environment The main objective during the current stage is to ensure that all the conditions are in place for a smooth and efficient restart of the project in line with the established project standards whilst protecting the project’s technical achievements from the past 3 years. Accountabilities • Contribute to essentially have a smooth and effective running of the EACOP Project in all matters highlighted in the present Service Description. Qualifications And Required Experience • Bachelors Degree on Procurement and Logistics Management. Professional Certification in Supply chain Logistics • 10 years’ experience in Project traffic & Logistics • Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and interact with operations, project, and construction management. • Must have a proven experience of working without direct supervision and be able to act on own initiative. • Must have experience of Logistic Management Software platforms and be capable and competent in the production of reports, briefs, and presentations.
