Job Title: Crane Operators
Location: Buliisa, Uganda
Salary: Attractive
Job Purpose:
The Operator/ Driver’s primary role is planning and executing project tasks involving assigned Vehicles or Equipment as directed or assigned by the Project Coordinator or Operations officer, such tasks are to be conducted safely and in accordance with Customer Requirements. The Operator / Driver works with the Entire Project Team to meet the set objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that resources assigned to the Project are used properly and maintained in their best condition.
- Immediately informs site supervisor of any problems, necessary maintenance, or necessary repairs to a vehicle both verbally and in writing, in the vehicle/ Equipment daily checklist
- Effective Use of Assigned Equipment/ Vehicle to minimise Wear & Tear and Efficient Fuel Use.
- Safe keeping of All Equipment items and Accessories.
- Assist Project Coordinator in the planning and Effective Project Execution and Delivery.
- Ensure all duties and responsibilities are performed as per procedure and Work instructions.
- Completes all data entry requirements as requested by the site supervisor i.e. fuelling, mileage recording and signing of the gate pass and checklists
- Suggest innovation in operations with at least one innovation process per year.
- Ensure Continuous improvement of assigned tasks based on performance review by the Coordinator.
- Meet Customer-set Objectives and targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Propose Ways to enhance Customer satisfaction and Services done to Customers.
- Maintain Safe operations by Following Safety Procedures and Works instructions.
- Execute Stop work authority when any task is deemed unsafe or unfit to execute the task.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Operations Coordinator/Officer
Academic and Certificate Qualifications
 Valid driver’s license class BCE& I or applicable equivalent for the specific equipment.
ï‚· High School Diploma, Relevant Training Certifications, Equipment Certification (100Ton Crane)
ï‚· Suitability test certificate of equipment
ï‚· Post High school Relevant Certification. And Equipment Certification.
 Up-to-date Banksman/Slinging/ 50 -100 Ton Crane operator’s certification
Experience/Competence
ï‚· Experience in Safe operation of relevant equipment /Vehicles.
ï‚· Testimonial letters from previous engagements with the relevant equipment.
ï‚· At least 5 years in Operation of Equipment or Vehicle. Skills and Knowledge
ï‚· Original Equipment Manufacturing Training of Equipment to be operated.
ï‚· Good Understanding of Best HSE practices, Situation awareness and Risk assessment.
ï‚· Defensive Driving Training and Skills.
ï‚· Fit to work medical test
ï‚· Good communication skills with relevant stakeholders.
