KEY DUTIES - Operate boat safely in line with the safety training given.
- Boats need to be driven carefully to protect the vessel and the outboard engine. NO ROUGH DRIVING.
- Understand the lake conditions and report to the supervisor if conditions are unsafe.
- Work in line with the company’s health and safety guidelines.
- Make sure boats are moored safely in the harbor.
- Carry out daily corrective/preventive maintenance on the boat (cleaning boats, checking oil and filling fuel).
- Report any faults on the boat to the supervisor immediately.
- At times be involved with periodic maintenance if required to do so.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Line Manager.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE - Uganda Certificate of Education
- Minimum 2 years boat driving experience
- Should have some practical skills (ropework and basic mechanical skills)
- Knowledge in Swimming and Rescue skills.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES - Good communication skills including reading skills
- Good in Basic Mathematics
- Physical strength and stamina
- Ability to work long hours
- The ability to get along well with co-workers
- The ability to keep up to date with changing technology
- Strong Analytical Skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to swim
