The role operates within a matrix structure, implementing Group strategies across Finance, HR, Sales & Marketing, Reservations, and IT, while working closely with EXCO and functional leaders. Key Responsibilities - Provide overall leadership and execute Group strategy across Uganda.
- Oversee camps, lodges, DMC, activities, and support operations.
- Drive operational efficiency, service excellence, and consistent company standards.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, costs, procurement, stock, and CAPEX
- Lead implementation of business systems and operational improvements.
- Support commercial initiatives and key trade partner relationships.
- Develop leadership capability, staff training, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and high property presentation standards.
- Oversee conservation, sustainability, CR, and responsible tourism initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with communities, government authorities, tourism bodies, and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, governance, and safety standards.
- Prepare and present regular operational and financial performance reports.
Requirements - Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Tourism, Finance, or related field;
- MBA/postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Proven experience leading safari camps, lodges, or multi-site tourism operations.
- Strong operational and commercial management experience.
- Minimum 10 yearsâ experience in East Africa highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead organisational change and drive operational excellence.
- Strong leadership, financial, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to sustainable tourism.
