Key Activities and Responsibilities - Conduct counselling assessments and identify patients' psychosocial needs.
- Provide individual and appropriate group counselling.
- Support patients experiencing emotional distress, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other psychosocial difficulties.
- Provide counselling related to illness, diagnosis, treatment, bereavement, and other life challenges.
- Maintain professional confidentiality and appropriate counselling records.
- Identify patients requiring specialised mental health or medical intervention and make appropriate referrals.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case management.
- Provide health education and psychosocial awareness.
- Support vulnerable patients in accessing appropriate services.
- Follow professional ethical standards and hospital policies.
- Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities where required.
Qualifications and Experience - Recognised qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a relevant field.
- Appropriate professional registration where applicable.
- Counselling experience in a healthcare environment is desirable.
- Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, and confidentiality skills.
