Job Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards. The role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent dining experiences. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation - Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and served on time.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control.
- Assist with menu preparation and daily kitchen operations.
Kitchen Operations - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Store food items safely and monitor stock levels.
- Minimize food wastage and report inventory shortages.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Teamwork - Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Support colleagues during busy service periods.
- Perform any other kitchen-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications - Certificate or Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
Experience - Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality establishment is an added advantage.
Core Competencies - Food preparation and presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
- Time management.
- Teamwork.
- Attention to detail.
