IIDC provides technical assistance and facilitates learning both at organisational and programming levels. Our programming technical assistance and learning work cover a number of thematic areas including program design and measurement, evidence generation and documentation, male engagement, preventing violence against children, safeguarding and social norms Transformation Programming. The goal is to ensure development programs generate lasting impact at scale. In line with the growing programming work in the area of Social Norms technical assistance, evidence generation and learning with the partners, IIDC seeks to recruit a competent Social Norms Technical Advisory to implement the current Social Norms technical activities and social norms learning collaborative work. The consultant shall be engaged on consultancy contract framework under definite scope of work aligned to the specific roles below. Specific Tasks - Be the focal person and coordinator of activities of Eastern Africa social norms learning collaborative (EALC)
- Coordinate the engagements with EALC secretariat partners, EALC members and global social norms learning collaborative
- Lead and coordinate the growth of EALC membership through facilitating onboarding processes and expanding the activities of EALC members including webinars, physical engagements, capacity improvement activities
- Lead and coordinate the development and sharing of learning products on social norms with EALC members (research, reports, newsletters, blog posts, social media content etc)
- Technical contribution to social norms works under EALC projects including evidence reviews, sense making workshops, and manuscript development.
- Manage content updates on EALC websites in consultation with global learning collaborative secretariat.
- Oversee the development of social norms activities progress reports, updates for internal IIDC reporting and external report.
- Technical support to 10 REAL fathers implementing partners to implement negative social norms transformation activities in parenting.
- Remotely engage EALC focal persons in the EALC countries and support to coordinate relevant activities that can be done with their support.
- Coordinate and Participate in regular meetings of EALC secretariat and global learning collaborative secretariat.
- Contribute to the process of engaging consultants and technical oversight over the social norms assignments
- Perform other social norms related tasks as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications - Minimum Masterâs degree in the fields of Public Health, Social and behavioural sciences, Sociology Psychology, development Studies, or Social Work.
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated working experience in Behaviour Change and Social Norms Programming, and Research or social norms intervention measurement.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in the fields of Gender programming, Violence against Women and Children, Male Engagement, Livelihoods as well as sexual and reproductive Health.
- Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in coordinating work that involves joint work with different stakeholders from different sectors and institutions.
Other essential skills: - A high level of conceptual and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills- ability to adapt and use different communication channels to get the results
- Self-starter with agility and out of the box thinker
- Strong attention to detail and ability to different pieces of work and ideas in an ambiguous situation
- Excellent planning and coordination skills
