We are looking for a competent and innovative Compensation & Benefits / HR Operations Lead to join our team Job Title: Compensation & Benefits / HR Operations Lead Department: Human Resources Reports To: Group Human Resources Business Partner Location: East Africa where Q-Sourcing operates Role Summary The Compensation & Benefits / HR Operations Lead is responsible for strengthening reward and HR operational delivery through accurate employee data, dependable payroll coordination, workforce planning support, effective HR systems and decision-ready workforce reporting. This role enables HR Business Partners to manage employees and client-facing workforce requirements with reliable information, tools and operational support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Compensation & Benefits Management - Develop, maintain and administer compensation structures, allowances and employee benefit programmes in line with approved policy and business requirements.
- Coordinate salary review and reward planning processes, including data preparation, validation, analysis and implementation support.
- Conduct or coordinate market benchmarking and provide evidence-based reward insights to support internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Maintain accurate reward data and documentation and ensure approved compensation changes are implemented correctly.
Payroll Governance & Employee Data Integrity - Coordinate payroll inputs, validations, reconciliations and approvals to support accurate and timely payroll for employees, including staff deployed at client sites.
- Maintain strong controls over employee master data and payroll-impacting changes, with clear audit trails and appropriate approvals.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution with HR, Finance, operational teams and service providers.
- Prepare payroll and headcount reports for management and client-facing requirements.
HR Operations & Service Delivery - Oversee consistent employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding, employee changes, transfers and exits.
- Establish service standards, process controls and operating procedures that improve accuracy, turnaround time and employee experience.
- Monitor HR operational queries and ensure timely resolution or escalation.
- Support compliance reviews and audits by maintaining complete, current and accessible HR records.
HR Systems, Reporting & Analytics - Enable HR Business Partners with system tools and accurate employee information required for employee management.
- Maintain data quality standards across HR systems and coordinate periodic data checks and corrections.
- Develop recurring dashboards and reports covering headcount, payroll, billing inputs and workforce trends.
- Provide data insights that support workforce and client decision-making.
Workforce Planning, Budgeting & Client Support - Support HR Business Partners in workforce planning and budgeting through accurate headcount, cost and employee data.
- Coordinate client reporting requirements relating to headcount, payroll and billing.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and operational teams to anticipate workforce changes and assess payroll and cost implications.
- Identify risks, variances and data gaps early and recommend corrective action.
Controls, Compliance & Continuous Improvement - Ensure compensation, benefits, payroll and HR operations are delivered in accordance with approved policies, statutory requirements and internal controls.
- Document key processes, control points, approval of authorities and records-retention requirements.
- Use operational metrics and root-cause analysis to reduce errors, rework and processing delays.
- Lead improvement initiatives that standardize and simplify HR operations across the Group.
Stakeholder Partnership & Team Leadership - Build effective working relationships with HR Business Partners, Finance, ICT, country teams, site operations and external service providers.
- Provide clear guidance on processes, timelines, data requirements and control expectations.
- Lead and develop the HR operations team through clear objectives, coaching and accountability.
- Communicate complex reward, payroll and workforce information clearly to decisionmakers.
Required Experience and Qualifications Qualification: - Bachelorâs degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration or Finance or a related field.
- Professional HR, Reward, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, or related certification is an added advantage.
Experience: - At least 5 yearsâ experience in handling payrolls, compensation and benefits in a fast-paced environment
- Progressive experience in compensation and benefits, payroll, HR operations, HR systems or workforce analytics.
- Practical experience supporting payroll governance, employee data management and workforce reporting.
- Experience partnering with HR Business Partners and supporting multi-site or client-deployed workforces is preferred.
- Experience improving processes and controls in a complex or multi-entity organization is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies - Strong analytical capability and advanced proficiency in Excel and HR information systems.
- High attention to detail, data integrity and confidentiality.
