The role focuses on optimizing collection processes, supporting Centre staff, and maintaining accurate reporting across assigned territories. Key Responsibilities: 1. Centre Coordination & Oversight - Support the day-to-day running of assigned plastic collection centers.
- Monitor and support center staff to ensure proper segregation, weighing, and documentation of plastics.
- Coordinate timely pick-ups and deliveries to ensure the flow of materials without backlog.
- Act as a link between collection centers and the regional office for escalations or operational support.
2. Data Management & Reporting - Ensure all transactions (plastic collected, payments, supplier details) are accurately recorded in the system.
- Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on plastic volumes, payments, and supplier trends.
- Conduct regular reconciliations to ensure system records match actual transactions.
3. Supplier & Community Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with plastic suppliers (individual collectors, community groups, schools, etc.).
- Sensitize communities about plastic recycling and promote the organizationâs mission.
- Address supplier queries and ensure timely payment processing.
4. Quality Control - Monitor plastic quality at collection points to reduce contamination and ensure compliance with sorting standards.
- Train center staff and suppliers on plastic grading and proper collection practices.
5. Logistics & Inventory - Support center staff in managing materials handling, storage, and preparation for onward transport.
- Ensure all weighing equipment and systems are functional and calibrated.
Qualifications and Experience: - Diploma or Bachelorâs degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Social Work, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in field operations, collections, or community-based programs.
- Experience working with waste management, recycling, or FMCG logistics is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data entry systems, or mobile-based reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English and at least one local language relevant to the area of deployment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively to remote or rural areas within Uganda.
