JOB DETAILS: Coating/Painting & Insulation Specialist – Uganda On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are looking for a Coating/Painting & Insulation Specialist to work in Uganda on a contract, rotational basis. This will be a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 8/2 into country, paying a day rate in USD. The role will be supporting the construction of a large cross-country crude oil pipeline. Key Responsibilities: • Ensure coating, painting, and insulation processes comply with project specifications and industry standards. • Monitor contractor activities, ensuring proper application methods, storage, and equipment maintenance. • Conduct quality inspections and oversee testing, including manual coating, holiday detection, and repairs. • Work closely with contractors and field engineering teams to resolve technical issues. • Ensure proper training and qualification of workforce handling coating and insulation tasks. • Manage work acceptance operations, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget. • Promote and enforce HSE standards to ensure safe work practices. Qualifications & Experience: • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • 10+ years of experience in site construction within Oil & Gas or hydrocarbon projects. • 5+ years in a coating supervision role. • Experience working for an operator • Certified NACE CIP or equivalent (BGAS-CSWIP, FROSIO). • Strong knowledge of coating and insulation industry standards and best practices. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements. • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). • Previous experience working with multicultural teams and international contractors.
