About Hashtag Gulu Initiative
Hashtag Gulu Initiative is a youth-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting street-connected children and youths. Focused on rehabilitation, reformation, and reintegration, the organization envisions a community where individuals take collective responsibility for each other's well-being, fostering inclusivity and peace. Hashtag Gulu collaborates with parents to address the root causes of challenges, offering alternatives to crime and violence through mentoring.
Job Purpose
The Clinical Psychologist will provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and therapy to street-connected children and youths supported by Hashtag Gulu Initiative. The role includes designing treatment plans, offering crisis intervention, and contributing to mental health awareness initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Supervise counselors and social workers, offering guidance and training during project implementation.
2. Conduct psychological assessments, diagnoses, and therapy sessions for individuals, families, and groups.
3. Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of clients.
4. Provide crisis intervention services and coping strategies for individuals in distress.
5. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in adherence to ethical guidelines.
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive client care.
7. Deliver psycho-education sessions to clients and families to promote understanding of mental health issues.
8. Participate in outreach programs, workshops, and mental health awareness campaigns.
9. Initiate and participate in research activities to enhance mental health services.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education:
• Master’s degree in Clinical or Community Psychology, or a Postgraduate qualification in Addiction Management and Counseling, or a related field.
Certification:
• Licensed or certified to practice as a Clinical Psychologist.
Experience:
• At least 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
Language Skills:
• Proficiency in Acholi or Lango is an added advantage.

1. Strong knowledge of psychological theories, therapies, and evidence-based practices.
2. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
3. Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to client well-being.
