Alive Medical Services (AMS) invites qualified and motivated professionals to join our dynamic team in delivering high-quality, client-centered healthcare services to communities across Uganda. Alive Medical Services (AMS) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental health facility established in February 2007, located in Namuwongo, Kampala, Uganda. AMS operates 24/7 to ensure uninterrupted access to essential healthcare services. Using a community-based, client-centered, and peer-led approach, AMS provides free comprehensive, integrated HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services to over 218,000 clients annually, including more than 90,700 young people, adolescent girls and young women, orphans, and other vulnerable populations. AMS works across more than 25 districts in Uganda to deliver comprehensive and differentiated high-quality HIV/AIDS and SRHR prevention, care, treatment, and psychosocial support services. As we continue to expand our impact, we are seeking a passionate and committed Clinical Officer to join our team and contribute to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CLINICAL OFFICER. - Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Prescribe medications and manage patient care in accordance with national treatment guidelines.
- Perform minor medical procedures within the scope of practice.
- Provide emergency and primary healthcare services.
- Refer patients requiring specialized care to appropriate facilities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Participate in health education, disease prevention and community outreach activities.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council
- A valid Annual Practicing License.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a busy healthcare setting
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- High ethical standards, professionalism, Integrity and commitment to patient care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
