About Organisation:
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU) is the national professional accountancy body in Uganda, established by The Accountants Act.  It has the legal mandate to regulate and maintain the Standard of Accountancy in Uganda; to prescribe and regulate the conduct of accountants and practising accountants in Uganda; as well as conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda.
Job Summary: Â Â The Institute, therefore, seeks to recruit an experienced Clerk Of Works (C.O.W.), as an independent consultant, to assist it in the delivery of the works.
ICPAU is in the process of redeveloping its office block at Plot 42 Bukoto Street, Kololo, into a multi-storied building. The project comprises the construction of a seven-storied building, five (5) levels for office space and two (2) levels of car parking and associated external works.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Â Â The Clerk of Works will;
- Be responsible for assisting with the timely delivery of the project and ensuring that the assignments performed by the consultants and works carried out by contractors adhere to sound civil engineering principles, specifications and standards.
- Provide day-to-day on-site project administration, inspection and supervision of construction works on behalf of the Institute and supervising consultant, and submit regular (monthly) progress reports, and keep daily site logs.
- Ensure quality assurance, timely intervention on technical issues and oversee the delivery of the construction works in accordance with specifications.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A diploma in Building and Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Additional qualification in Building and Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution will be an advantage.
- Good computer skills.
- At least five years of experience, as a Clerk of Works.
