Role Overview
As a Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance projects that significantly impact our communities. You will work within a small, dynamic team and report directly to a supervisor, contributing to projects that include roads, bridges, and other vital infrastructures. We are looking for an analytical thinker who thrives in a problem-solving environment and is adaptable to the demands of the engineering field.

Position Details
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Location: Kampala Central / On-site
• Reporting Structure: Reports to Supervisor
• Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and direct construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project sites.
• Inspect project sites to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, and program modifications.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, and blueprints to gather necessary data.
• Estimate costs of materials, equipment, and labor to assess project feasibility.
• Prepare and present public reports on various project-related topics.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications
• Education Requirements: Post-secondary Diploma in Civil Engineering or related fields.
• Required Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role.
• Mandatory Skills: Active Listening, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, Critical Thinking, Active Learning.
• Required Technical Knowledge: Document management software, CAD software (Sketchup, Archcad), Map creation software (Autocad), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Required Certifications/Licenses: None specified.
• Language Requirements: English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
• Desired Additional Skills: Time Management, Judgment and Decision Making.
