JOB DETAILS: African Youth Development Link (AYDL) is the leading youth-focused non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Uganda on a mission to empower young people and youth to participate in governance and development decision-making processes at all levels. Established on 14th July 2009, AYDL advocates the implementation and firm laws and policies for increased youth participation in leadership and democratic governance processes at local and national levels for progress and change in Uganda and beyond. AYDL is seeking to recruit for three key positions under the USAID/Uganda Civic Engagement Activity (CEA). Summaries of the Job Descriptions are given below. Job Title: Chief of Party Job Overview: The Chief of Party (COP) will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and technical oversight for the USAID/Uganda CEA project. This role involves ensuring the project achieves its objectives, adheres to donor regulations, and meets stakeholder needs. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage all aspects of the program, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. • Set and adhere to evidence-based strategy, integrating innovative approaches to achieve project goals. • Oversee project staff, providing mentorship, capacity building, and performance management. • Engage with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to build strong partnerships and ensure alignment with project objectives. • Ensure compliance with USAID regulations, policies, and reporting requirements. Requirements: • Must have an advanced degree in Political Science, Law, electoral systems, governance, or other relevant fields. • Should have at least 7 years of professional experience managing governance and civic engagement programs in developing countries related to organizing strategic economic processes with inclusion and CSO sector and citizen engagement.
