JOB DETAILS: About League of East African Directors (LEAD) LEAD was established to address, amongst others, the lack of a consolidated reference point for companies and organisations seeking directors, leading to a perceived shortage of eligible quality individuals to serve as board members. LEAD’s goal, from inception, was to break the culture of a limited pool of individuals being appointed to boards by identifying and promoting new talent while enhancing overall board effectiveness. LEAD aims to identify and develop potential directors, spotlight non-executive directors that are serving effectively, create a database of qualified board-ready individuals, and provide board training, thought leadership to the market and resources for professional growth and board effectiveness. LEAD is a not-for-profit organisation. Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Chief Executive at LEAD. The Chief Executive will be responsible for executing the strategy of LEAD and for overseeing the activities and operations of LEAD in line with the strategy of the Company while ensuring that the members of LEAD are well served and supported to be effective as potential or serving directors. In this regard, the CEO will focus on recruitment of members and proactively generating promotional enrichment and networking events supported by extensive partnerships and fundraising. This role is based in Kampala, Uganda with flexibility for some remote work. Qualifications • Strategic planning and strategy execution skills and experience • Experience in operations management and business development • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities • Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills • Ability to drive organizational growth, resource mobilization and optimization, and innovation • Ability to build strategic partnerships and relationships • Experience in corporate governance or board leadership • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Management, or related fields Job Experience: No Requirements Work Hours: 8
