Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) is a faith-based private University owned by the Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Uganda.
Job Summary: Â Â The University is looking for a suitably qualified person to fill the full time position of Chef;
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the food and beverage provision for staff and students.
- Supervising catering activities.
- Planning menus in consultation with other Chefs.
- Recruitment and training of Kitchen staff in consultation with the Administrator, Catering Department.
- Being in charge of organizing, leading and motivating the catering team.
- Being in charge of planning staff shifts and rotas.
- Monitoring the quality of the service provided
- Monitoring the cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you by relevant authority.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidate should be in possession of a relevant Diploma in Hotel and Institutional Catering or its equivalent in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- S/he should have working experience of at least 3 years as Chef in a recognized organization or in a related activity in a recognized institution.
- S/he should have a satisfactory record of service to the community.
