JOB DETAILS: Role Overview: The Chairperson provides overall leadership to the SACCO. They are responsible for chairing meetings, steering the board in policy formulation, ensuring proper governance, and representing the SACCO at external engagements. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the board to ensure the SACCO adheres to its byelaws and the Cooperative Societies Act. • Chair board meetings and ensure decisions align with SACCO objectives. • Act as the official spokesperson of the SACCO. • Ensure policies and resolutions are implemented effectively. • Oversee the preparation of the SACCO’s strategic plan and monitor its progress. • Facilitate good relationships between the SACCO, its members, and external stakeholders. Requirements: • Proven leadership experience, preferably in SACCOs, cooperatives, or financial institutions. • Strong understanding of governance and financial management. • Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills. • Must be in good standing with fully paid subscriptions.
