The role focuses on driving category growth through effective distributor management, field execution excellence, and close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams. The Category Supervisor ensures that category plans are translated into strong in-market performance and customer satisfaction. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Category Execution and Market Implementation - Execute category strategies, initiatives, and promotional plans as defined by Sales and Marketing.
- Ensure correct product assortment, distribution, and availability across assigned outlets. Monitor shelf presence, planogram compliance, and product visibility in line with category standards.
- Drive execution of launches, promotions, and visibility programs at the outlet level.
Product Development and Campaign Execution - Support product development initiatives by providing structured market insights, distributor feedback, and customer trends to inform New Product Development (NPD).
- Coordinate and drive effective in market execution of product launches, ensuring availability, visibility, and trade readiness at go-live.
- Monitor performance of new products post launch and provide evaluation reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Execute approved marketing and trade campaigns within assigned territories in line with set objectives, timelines, and brand guidelines.
- Track and report on campaign effectiveness at market level, highlighting ROI, execution gaps, and opportunities for optimization.
Distributor and Retailer Management - Manage distributor performance to ensure effective stock management, order fulfillment, and route coverage.
- Conduct regular distributor visits to monitor sales execution, merchandising standards, and service levels.
- Support distributors in resolving operational challenges impacting category performance.
- Build strong relationships with retailers to improve product placement and promotional compliance.
Sales Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Track category sales performance against targets and identify gaps or opportunities.
- Analyze sell-in and sell-out data to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare regular market performance reports highlighting execution issues, competitor activity, and growth opportunities.
- Share actionable market insights with Sales and Marketing teams.
Trade Marketing and Visibility Execution - Implement trade marketing activities including displays, POS materials, and in-store promotions.
- Ensure visibility assets are properly deployed, maintained, and compliant with brand guidelines.
- Coordinate with merchandising teams to drive consistent execution standards.
- Monitor promotional effectiveness and provide post-activity feedback.
Competitive and Market Intelligence - Monitor competitor activities including pricing, promotions, new launches, and visibility tactics.
- Collect and report market intelligence to support category planning and strategy refinement.
- Identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and execution gaps in the market.
- Recommend corrective actions to strengthen category competitiveness.
Financial Management - Support achievement of category sales targets and contribution margins.
- Monitor trade spend execution and ensure activities are within approved budgets.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of promotional investments.
- Assist in identifying cost-effective execution opportunities without compromising brand standards.
Risk Management - Identify risks related to poor execution, stock shortages, or distributor non-compliance.
- Escalate operational risks impacting category performance in a timely manner.
- Support corrective actions to mitigate sales, financial, or reputational risks.
- Monitor compliance with agreed commercial terms and execution standards.
Quality Management - Ensure all category execution activities comply with the companyâs Quality Management System (QMS), ISO standards, and approved standard operating procedures.
- Monitor product handling, storage, merchandising, and stock rotation at distributor and retail level to ensure conformity to quality and safety requirements.
- Identify, report, and support investigation of non-conforming products in accordance with established corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Coordinate with Quality Control to facilitate timely containment, withdrawal, or recall of affected products when required.
Compliance - Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of duties in the country.
- Ensure Adherence to Movit Group and In Country Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - Bachelorâs Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 5 yearsâ experience in sales, category execution, or trade marketing within FMCG.
