This state-of-the-art facility produces a wide range of essential consumer goods, including Ntake Edible Cooking Oil available in 20L, 10L, 5L, 3L, and 1L jerrycans; Ntake Thupu Refined Fortified Edible Vegetable Oil in sachets of 1000ml, 500ml, 200ml, 100ml, 50ml, and 25ml packs; Ntake Baker’s Fat (AA & BB); Ntake Margarine; Refined RBD Olein (Bulk and Export Package); and an assortment of soaps such as Ntake Zuri Off-White Soap, Ntake Lemon Perfumed Soap, Ntake Zuri Brown Soap, and Ntake Zuri Blue Soap. As Ntake Bakery & Company Limited continues to grow and expand across East Africa, we are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Boiler Operator.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to support safe and efficient production by operating, monitoring, and maintaining boiler systems and related equipment that supply steam to critical manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining optimal boiler efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, monitoring water and steam quality parameters, and supporting preventive maintenance activities.

Working closely with the Engineering and Mechanical teams, as well as the Production department, the Boiler Operator will contribute to reliable plant operations, reduced downtime, and cost-effective energy utilization. This position is essential in supporting the smooth running of our diverse operations, including bakery, flour milling, edible oil refining, concrete batching, estates, confectionery, and tissue manufacturing, while ensuring the safety of personnel, equipment, and the boiler facility at all times.

In this role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain boiler systems to ensure efficient and reliable steam generation for critical manufacturing processes. Working closely with the engineering, mechanical, and production teams, you will help maintain optimal boiler performance, monitor water and steam quality parameters, support preventive maintenance, and ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. Your contribution will be essential in supporting continuous plant operations, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the safe and efficient running of operations including bakery, flour milling, edible oil refining, concrete batching, estates, confectionery, and tissue manufacturing.

Note: We particularly welcome applicants with strong knowledge of fire-tube boiler operations and burner systems, especially those with hands-on experience operating, monitoring, and maintaining industrial boilers in edible oil refinery environments. Candidates with the ability to manage boiler combustion systems, monitor steam pressure and water parameters, troubleshoot boiler faults, and ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental standards will have an added advantage. Practical experience in boiler efficiency management, preventive maintenance, and safe boiler house operations will enable the successful candidate to effectively support reliable steam generation and continuous production at Ntake Bakery & Company Limited.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boiler systems, accessories, and mountings to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Maintain boiler safety and environmental compliance at all times.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to optimize boiler performance and minimize operating costs.
• Ensure boiler efficiency is maintained at optimal levels.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in and around the boiler area.
• Analyze operating data to ensure equipment runs at peak performance.
• Prioritize the quality of steam produced for production processes.
• Maintain boiler, feed water, and condensate water parameters within required operational ranges.
• Troubleshoot boiler-related problems promptly to avoid downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventive repairs.
• Maintain accurate records and logbooks for operational and maintenance activities.
• Prepare daily operational reports for future reference and audits.
• Ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and the boiler facility at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related technical fields.
• Hands-on experience operating, monitoring, and maintaining industrial boilers, preferably in edible oil refinery environments.
• Experience with fire-tube boilers and burner systems is an added advantage.
• Physically fit and able to work safely in an industrial environment.
• Prior experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and boiler efficiency management is highly desirable.
