KSL boasts of two sugar estates, one in Kakira â Jinja and the other in Kayunga. Job Summary: To plan and support teachers with demonstrative technical guidance / leadership in the academics, professional and administrative programmes of the schools in line with MoE& S / KSL stipulations. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - To prepare curriculum and syllabus of the Schools in accordance with the policy of MoE&S and providing professional advice and guidelines to teachers.
- To spearhead innovative planning for inspiring performance of both teachers and learners.
- To coordinate, monitor and evaluate teachers and learnersâ competences for good performance with focus on high levels of teaching and learning standards.
- To lead in the joint preparation and effective use of informed Departmental teaching notes, learning aids, schemes of work/ lesson plans and ensure proper teaching of pupils in schools.
- To identify professional needs of the Department/ teachers and share with his or her supervisors accordingly besides suggesting the likely way forward.
- To plan, organize, co-ordinate and support the teaching programmes and activities of staff and pupils.
- Prepare and Teach Model lessons to demonstrate the required good practices/competences in lesson preparation and content delivery.
- To ensure proper planning, budgeting and accountability of the Departmental activities and resources in consultation with the his/her immediate supervisor.
- To support in the co-curricular activities as may be scheduled accordingly.
- To uphold self and staff professionalism besides the good discipline pupils.
- Provide support supervision to school administrators and teachers to strengthen their performance.
- To participate in the implementation of any education sector reforms recommended by MoE&S
- To prepare performance reports for presentation and submission to the immediate supervisors.
- To network and benchmark with other proven educational institutions and resourceful persons
- Ensure that the KSL and Government reforms and programs are implemented.
- Analysis and keeping proper records of learnersâ performance for all the schools in both hard and soft copies.
- Regular check up on teachers (classroom observation) to enhance their competence and performance levels.
- Induction of the new teaching staff and support them in settling and catching up with culture and the expected performance standards besides meeting with individual teachers on special request.
- Be accountable of the good performance of teachers and leaners in his or her area of specialisation
- To conduct any other related duties assigned from time to time by the supervisors
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Learning / Early Childhood Education C2.2: Person Specification/Job Requirements: - Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
- Minimum of 5 yearsâ experience as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher in a nursery school
- Strong understanding of early childhood teaching and learning standards
- Good networking capacity with respective resourceful persons and good performing schools
- Competence mentoring of other staff, organising and presenting of demonstration lessons, staff workshops / seminars / In -house trainings.
- Basic knowledge and skills in computer use, teacher/lesson supervision and school inspection are essential
- Knowledge of MoE& S and other related Statutory Guidelines is essential
