Position Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Department at the Lugazi Plant. The successful candidate will support daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities - Assist in the preparation and posting of journal entries, invoices, and vouchers.
- Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and documentation.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with auditors and other stakeholders during audits.
- Support other accounting functions as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in Tally, QuickBooks, or other accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
